Though i was trying to hang on for sometime till i could no longer tolerate the moderator who once and twice that deleted my post in plupenang and lpg yahoo group.

PUTRAJAYA: A Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) worker convicted on 22 sodomy charges wants the Court of Appeal here to declare as unconstitutional the provision criminalising that offence, contending that it is biased against the male gender.
The submission was made by Fahri Azzat, counsel for Abdul Rahim Abd Rahaman, in his appeal to set aside the 60-year jail term and 22 strokes of the rotan meted out on him by the Shah Alam Sessions Court in 2007.
However, Abdul Rahim, an HIV patient, failed to convince justices Datuk Suriyadi Halim Omar, Datuk Hasan Lah and Datuk Ahmad Maarop who dismissed his appeal and upheld his sentence.
Fahri had argued that Sections 377A and 377B of the Penal Code, which make committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature a crime, infringe Article 8 (1) and (2) of the Federal Constitution which states that all persons should be treated equally and prohibits discrimination against citizens.
He said a scrutiny of Section 377B clearly showed that the provision only applied to males because it referred to a person introducing his penis into the anus or mouth of another person.
Fahri said the provision defined “carnal intercourse against the order of nature” so narrowly that only males could be charged with such an offence.
That implied that females could never ever be charged with carnal intercourse against the order of nature, he said, contending that females could actually commit carnal intercourse.
“As it stands, there is a virtual immunity for females against one of the severest criminal laws in Malaysia, he said.
“If a woman uses a vibrator to penetrate a man’s anus and she derives sexual pleasure from it, would that not be ‘carnal intercourse against the order of nature’ in the ordinary sense of the word?”
Fahri also argued that the section also invaded the right to privacy provided under the Federal Constitution as it criminalised consensual sexual acts between two persons.
This led Suriyadi to ask: “Are you saying that homosexuality among consenting adults is legal? In other words, what happens in the bedroom is none of the government’s business?”
Abdul Rahim, 39, pleaded guilty to committing the offences at a flat in Gombak, Selangor between April 18 and May 8, 2007. He took the matter to the Court of Appeal after losing his appeal at the High Court.
Deputy Public Prosecutor V. Shoba submitted that the argument on the constitutionality of the sections was unfounded because the issue referred to consenting persons in a sexual act.
She said that in this case, the victim was a 15-year-old boy, who, the law said, was incapable of giving consent to an act.
Outside the court, Abdul Rahim’s other counsel, Amer Hamzah Arshad, said the novel points were of public interest and there should be a written judgment.
Earlier, Fahri had requested a written judgment but Suriyadi said the quorum would only write if ordered by the Federal Court as was the norm with subordinate court cases. -- Bernama

Police probe gay link in murder case
PETALING JAYA: Police believe a senior official with the Philippine Embassy might have been killed last month by a man he was having a homosexual relationship with.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police had ruled out their earlier theory that Finardo G. Cabilao, 52, the head of the embassy’s social welfare department, was murdered by a syndicate linked to human trafficking.
“The suspect is a local in his 20s. Investigations are still ongoing to make a stronger case, including checking his DNA before sending it to the Attorney-General’s Chambers,” he said.
Cabilao’s body was found sprawled in a pool of blood with multiple head and body injuries in the hall of his Casa Ria apartment here in Taman Maluri on Aug 7.

Of late, i read about the discrimination of bisexuals on the blog.

Just wondering how this people can have front and back as the fun line. I don't believe love can be sparated to two persons. It is more of a personal lust.

Of course not all the bi take the role as top, some are the bottom too.

But, it is not possible to have love and sex for two. It has to be either homo or hetro. But the sexual intercourse part would be more for the lust. To fulfill the urge of the basic animal needs.

I don't know, just wondering how these people go about it.

We love and we wanted to be loved. But, alas, there are too many things come by. The religion, the culture,wealth etc etc. The list can go down.

For the PLUs, it is even more to cater for. Unfortunately,the late Kak Yasmin did not tackle this in her work.

Sad, she left the world so soon. I believed she would do it one day if she was still on this world.

Look, her work of so called traditional LOVE was under so much pressure. What kind of society we have.

Love is beauty.

But some quarters take the LOVE as a weapon to fulfill their wishes of power.

Even Loo Zihan's work, recently was not being able to show in the short film in Singapore.

看 15MALAYSIA 的 POTONG SAGA 短片，新进导演何宇恒的表达方式不想多说，倒是对黄明志的态度令人不敢恭维。

记得在KL RAPID的公交车上，每天都放映 ONE IN A MILLION 歌唱比赛的外围赛，从一个州到另一个州。

记得是在一次的最后十名淘汰赛中，参赛者要拍很多的造型照片，一名北马的参赛者，男性，人长得很不错，歌也唱得棒，就是态度问题被挤出了。

评委的意见是，在娱乐圈子里，态度高傲是不能混饭吃的。

像黄明志这样的人，再有天才，也会得罪人，一次的国歌事件捧红了他，就以为路就是那么的平坦了。塞翁失马焉知祸福，上一回的事件不一定能再成为福，反对党能利用的价值就看能多高了。

在拍完这部短片后，来个大片的制作法，THE MAKING OF ….请在两分钟三十五秒开始的‘和黄明志合作。。。。。。’他说的话，你看官自己评论吧。

有点感觉何导演找错人来演发梦人了。

It should not matter if you are single, married or divorced, straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, transvestite, intersexed or asexual, everyone has these rights. But are these rights recognised in Malaysia? Should they be? And what can we do about it?

This year, Seksualiti Merdeka calls for everyone to stand together to claim our rights.

OUR AIMS

Happening in its second year, Seksualiti Merdeka is an annual sexuality rights festival featuring a programme of talks, lectures, forums, workshops, theatre and music performances, interactive installations and film screenings.

Seksualiti Merdeka was launched in 2008 in conjunction with Merdeka celebrations to underscore the fact that even after all these years since Merdeka, many of us are still not free to be who we are. The forums and talks last year aimed to foster a sense of compassion and understanding for those who faced discrimination for their gender identities and sexual orientation.

This year, with the theme “Our Bodies, Our Rights”, the festival is focusing on issues that affect everyone, such as privacy, moral policing and human rights. We aim to affirm sexuality rights as a human right, empower individuals and communities of all sexualities, and create platforms for advocacy of sexuality rights.

As the medical review has confirmed the recurring of my hernia. I would like to know the percentage of such operation. I do not believe it is the recurring. I believed it is the negligence of the surgeon.

Sufffering the pain till today. I did not take the pain killer instead the Vitamin C and it works better.

不知道午后的宝石湾车站有多高的温度，相信再高也不会比我心中的火那么热吧？

在医院已经是很高的热度，一个经验丰富的医生会对你说：我们都是人。

谁不知道你们医生是人，难道是外星人？

一个穿着短裤子和T恤衫的老头子就啥都不懂吗？看看那润滑的皮肤也应该推测不是阳光底下流着汗水的阿炳啦！和我说汉语，“下垂”也不懂。英文是可以说drop，但是，汉语那能用“掉”直翻译啊！这根本没关系，能沟通就算了。我又没要求要医生要当语文专家。

但是，最引起我的不满的是当我问他是手术出了问题吗？他的回答是：我们都是人。we are all human.天都晓得人是高级动物，对，是动物。所以，可以开着收音机在joget，一边在切割一个人。

再说，这种称为hernia的手术是极为简单的，危险性是差不多属于零点，除非，病人有三高，还是其它不知道的暗病。

真希望自己没上网去做那么多的搜集功课，最好也是阿炳，听不懂英国殖民地语言：那个纱布可能掉下来。

换言之，还要开腹再缝合。再给一排的毒药，七月十三日，一个关键性的时刻。
如果下周痛还没离我而去，我也不能做什么事了！

很喜欢这样的标题，所以，吸引了我。再读下去，就是羡慕。时光可以倒流，我或许也是这样。
是他，我感到有点骄傲，我们可以说句MALAYSIA BOLEH，可是，没有勇气，是不能达成的
。
报道说：

曾經有個馬大畢業生，在《釋迦牟尼佛傳》演出跋提王子，在馬大創立過“新客館”的劇團，當過學海學記……
5年前，一向活躍的他突然在劇場界消失，很多人不知道他的後續發展。直到北京奧運時期，他的名字出現在體育版，不管認不認識他的人才知道原來有這麼一個大馬人，在奧運宣傳活動上扎上一角。3年前還在北京參加電視節目《挑戰主持人》，當過3期的擂主，引起論壇熱烈討論。
對，是他了，他叫顏永祺。
被錄取北京奧運展示導演
中國中央戲劇學院（簡稱中戲）念表演系博士生顏永祺，在北京奧運擔任展示導演。
當時，他與一眾藝術工作者，接受中國《Men’s Uno》雜誌採訪有關奧林匹克的藝術人物。
以藝術表演的天份及外籍人士的身份進駐奧運，負責的項目是舉重。
顏永祺在該訪問中說，當時有關單位到中戲找適合人選當奧運項目展示導演，可能是他在大馬參與過好幾部音樂劇，加上參加過中央電視台《挑戰主持人》比賽等經歷，令他可以在二十多個應征者中脫穎而出。
“展示”是要讓比賽多一些娛樂性，在比賽的同時，也得到舞台呈現及視聽效果，以便吸引觀眾的視線。顏永祺原本並不了解舉重，結果他卻花最短的時間成為舉重項目的行家，把它當作一台演出。
雜誌記者問他最激動的時刻，他說：“就是我被錄取的那一天。我是個馬來西亞人，沒有想到能在留學的時候有機會參與奧運，直到今天為止我都不敢相信。”
拜託千萬別讓我考上大學
大學志願填上生物醫學，原來背後隱藏目的，最好因為競爭激烈慘遭淘汰進不了大學，這樣就可以名正言順修讀有關藝術方面的課程。結果事與願違，竟然以STPM 91分高分考進馬大生物醫學……
5年沒回過馬來西亞，在奧運之前也沒被本地報章訪問過，“我就像消失一樣，我都沒告訴別人我在這裡讀戲劇，包括戲劇圈的人。”
“No Theatre, No Life”（沒有劇場，就沒有人生）”顏永祺的部落格上抬頭的一句話。他的部落格裡，全都是有關他劇場的活動，演過的戲劇不下30部，還有他對戲劇的領悟、非一般的教學，戲劇與他的生活已經劃為等號………
但是，中國戲劇界或許不會想到他曾經當過一年的營養師(高中念理科)，曾是聖約翰救傷隊員。
若不是14歲那年，在學校中秋晚會上演出《水淹金山寺》，或許在戲劇界不會出現顏永祺這個名字。自那次之後，他開始自編自導，頻頻在馬六甲獲獎，最佳男主角、最佳編劇獎等等。
他希望能夠在大舞台上演出，但是藝術表演這工作，往往不是大人們的心頭愛。他也很乖地往大學方向跨去。原來，他選擇競爭激烈的生物醫學系的真正目的是最好進不了大學，這樣他就可以名正言順地修讀有關藝術方面的課程。
結果事與願違，他竟然以STPM 91分高分考進馬大生物醫學。大學時期，不安分的藝術細胞一直在挑戰顏永祺具備的科學細胞，他趁大學假期猛修學分，一有表演，他就去看，甚至創立大學劇社“新客館”。
北京中央戲劇學院，我來了
顏永祺之前在馬大已經選修戲劇課了，他還參加《釋迦牟尼佛傳》音樂劇演出，包括到國外巡迴。這段經驗對他很重要。
在戲劇與學業之間，顏永祺一直都站穩腳步，他說初中已參加學校的文藝學會之戲劇組，學習和興趣都是同時培養，畢業後就找到份營養師的工作。
時日越久，顏永祺對戲劇的熱愛越陷越深，同時也開始做出了成績。他看到大馬戲劇的困境，沒有踏實的感覺，他有很多疑問卻無從解決。要學習得更深入，就要出國。中國中央戲劇學院成為他的目標。
為了到中國，他四方打聽能夠獲得獎學金的方法，竟然給他找到了個“門路”──報考HSK漢語水平考試，要是獲得優秀生獎學金，就可以解決他的升學經費問題。哪怕只有一個名額，最後真的竟然給顏永祺考上了！他就這樣隻身到了北京，但是他並沒有立即選讀導演課程，而是拿了個播音主持課程。
“我得到HSK全額獎學金後，大使館讓我選擇中國的高校。我選了北大、中戲和上海复旦，結果他們安排中戲給我。按照正常的途徑，我這外籍生應該先學習漢語，但是他們惊訝我們大馬人的華語怎麼那麼好。他們發愁了，因為我根本不用上漢語課，然後他們說我有說話有口音，就安排我到系裡讀播音主持。”
一學期後，顏永祺再也按耐不住而申請轉到導演系。學了一個學期導演，隔年他就讀導演系碩士研究了。可是，HSK獎學金只有一年，還好他第一年的成績表現優異，在第二年又成功申請到總共50個名額的優秀留學生獎學金，3年的學費有了著落。碩士畢業後，又順利申請到中國政府獎學金（大馬有10個名額）。
11月，顏永祺有一場戲劇演出，忙得只剩下吃飯、沒有休息的時間。顏永祺似乎生來就注定要吃導演這一行飯，有人說他是比演員演得還好的導演，但他不喜歡當演員。
“當演員太被動了，至於當導演，我本來就是很主動的。”
演技比演員還要好的導演
記者猜他主意很多，應該也是個不喜歡被左右的人，這種人在劇場最適合當導演。他非常認同是個性使然。
他演的戲種多樣化，從原創、經典都有，也不乏情感路線戲種。他之所以喜歡戲劇，因為他在劇場裡得到快樂，從劇本裡，得了故事主人翁的人生經驗和成長，這種收獲是立體的，不像小說般是想像的。
顏永祺原本在中國一開始就搞戲劇創作，但搞了兩年就停了。他認為那裡的戲劇觀和表演觀有些問題。“演員無法體現我要的東西，很多演員的表演還是停留在那種假惺惺刻意表演，很可怕。於是，我就停止創作，開始兩年多的教學。”
在其他大學裡，顏永祺在五六個業餘劇社展開他的演員訓練工作。他發現中國的導演很特別，只會排戲，但卻沒有一套演員訓練的方法。“這就是泱泱大國，卻沒有出現俄羅斯的斯坦尼斯拉夫斯基、德國的布萊希特、波蘭的格洛托夫斯基這樣的大師的原因。”他用了兩年的時間來研究一套適合訓練中國演員的表演訓練方法，這些戲劇觀、表演觀都是從實踐中慢慢摸透的。
導演的戲劇人生未完待續……
在他眼裡，當演員都是身邊的藝術家們各種不系統的灌輸。如今，顏永祺的研究已“小有成就”，學校的老師讓他用自己的方法去教學生。
研究共分為兩部份，即演員素質訓練和角色塑造訓練，前一部份是讓任何老百姓可以自我訓練的，後部份是前部份訓練後，開始進入如何創造角色。前部份也是他的博士研究《生活表演學》，已進入中期。“現階段實踐和實例已經有了，最後需要理論的支持。
例如，在平時生活中，訓練自己的想像力、集中力、感受力等等，比如說放松練習等等。這是他綜合了各種國外的訓練法，看看哪些適合中國人，然後給學生嘗試及反複實驗，聽他們的反饋。
聽起來覺得這好神奇，他笑言“可能以前在馬大生物實驗裡做實驗太多了，所以寫論文也很科學。”
他的碩士論文更“神奇”，做了中國近25年的單人劇研究，中國沒有人做過，完全沒有資料，碩士論文只需要3萬字，顏永祺卻寫8萬字，導師說已經是博士論文了。他在研究裡做一系統分析。加上畢業作品也排了單人劇Emily of the Emerald Hill，就總結他的排演經驗。
他最大的理想是當個老師，因為靠個人能力，無法改變現今戲劇的大環境，而老師可以藉由教學過程引導一批批的學生。針對社會上落伍的觀念和思想，他會很憤怒。
顏永祺一直靠獎學金完成學業，他稱自己得到太多，回饋社會是一定要做到的，包括回國發展。
顯然，劇場會是他永遠的人生舞台。

The bottom line is: Keep the cards, take them home with you, or destroy them. They will not charge you for the card (it’s illegal) and you’ll be sure you are not leaving a lot of valuable personal information on it that could be easily lifted off with any simple scanning device card reader.

A consideration of the income of a Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Sultans as contained in the Civil List Act 1982 for the consideration of the rakyat charmingly written by an Encik Fahri Azzat.
The Civil List Act 1982 is instructive reading as it contains the amounts paid to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for the masterful performance of his Royal Duties. Section 2(1) of the Act provides that his Highness shall receive an annual sum as contained in the First, Second, Third, and Fourth schedule.

The First Schedule provides for a privy purse of RM 468,000.00 (or if he received a higher sum as Sultan, then that sum would apply), RM 156,000.00 for entertainment and Istana Negara Royal Allowance of RM 187,200.00. A grand total of RM 811,200.00. This is paid directly to his Highness.

The Second Schedule provides for Istana Expenses and Hospitality of RM 2,259,100.00, Salaries of Staff of the Istana of RM1,514,700.00 and Royal Bounty, Alms and Special Services of RM50,000.00. All that amounts to RM 3,823,800.00 and is payable directly to the ‘controlling officer’ appointed pursuant to section 15A of the Financial Procedure Act 1957. These are officers appointed by the Finance Minister (or State Financial Authority), to manage, regulate, execute and account for that expenditure.

The Third Schedule provides for the Raja Permaisuri Agong’s allowances which are a Privy Purse of RM 87,360.00, entertainment allowance of RM 28,080.00 and an Istana Negara Royal Allowance RM 36,000.00. A grand total of RM 151,440.00.
Both the payments under the First and Third Schedules are ‘payable monthly on the last day of each month or on such other day of the month as the Minister of Finance may from time to time determine.’ (see section 5(2) of the Act)

Finally, the Fourth Schedule is in respect of ’such sums as may be necessary for the provisions of privileges’. There is no sum stipulated in the schedule except for the phrase: ‘There shall be provided such privileges as may be determined by the Cabinet from time to time.’ The same discretion is also applied to section 3 of the Act which provides for their Highness’s’ ‘Other privileges’.

How interesting. That sure would be useful in one’s armoury of persuasion!

All this is of course paid out of the ‘Consolidated Fund’. This is defined in Article 97(1) of the Federal Constitution which provides as follows: All revenues and moneys howsoever raised or received by the Federation shall, subject to the provisions of this Constitution and of federal law, be paid into and form one fund, to be known as the Federal Consolidated Fund. Basically our taxes and whatever money raised by government goes towards paying at least RM 4,786,440 (adding up the first three schedules) for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Raja Permaisuri Agong and their household. I think the equivalent or thereabouts is paid to the Sultans in their State.
So let’s make a rough estimate here starting with rounding the figure down to a still generous RM 4 million per Sultan/Agong. Since there are nine of them that amounts to a minimum of RM 36 million spent on them a year. Wow.

The other point is this: since their Highness’s are paid such generous allowances, should they be soiling their pristine royal hands with the rigours of hard work and business dealings. Is it seemly for our royalty who are held in high regard to be seen squabbling over matters of ringgit and sen?

I for one could live a perfectly content life with such an allowance and see no need for troubling myself any further where that is concerned preferring to spend more time attending to the needs of the rakyat, after all one cannot rule over no one. What is more, I would argue that it is in their interest to do so. For example, if I felt much more were needed to sustain my lifestyle, I would gather my royal brothers (pretend lah!) and persuade all of them to jointly apply to Cabinet to ask them to amend the Schedules accordingly since that is in their discretion to amend.

But to go into business I think is not terribly fair on the rest of us because they would effectively be taking away that potential income from the rakyat, whom let us not forget are already paying them and their household a generous allowance. They have advantage of a limited immunity, which would still make suing them a hassle because the Attorney General would have to first consent to it. So they have an inherent advantage over most of the rakyat where business opportunities are concerned not just because of their legal status but also because of their ‘awe factor’ where people would want them in their companies to heighten their profile or improve their image. You want Royalty X in your company or Encik Whocares? Not to mention their no doubt impressive network connections and increasingly noticeable political activity (i.e. the demand for the return of their full immunity made not too long ago).

But then what do I know of royal life and pursuits (aside from maybe poor golfing), eh? And let us look to the silver lining no matter how thin and tattered it may be - we should celebrate and nurture their Highness’s entrepreneurial and social flair. After all, we don’t want them to look shabby compared to the other royalties in the world, now do we? So all of you out there, please be generous in your dealings with them, if ever you are fortunate enough to do so. It is in all our interest. Malaysian boleh!

I was totally frozen when I read this report on Star Online. But on second thought, I do not have many plastics cards, thus the pressures are reduced but still feeling sad that how the Malaysian government and the people in general are going to deal about it.
